Event Behavior

People attending the event should understand that we are there to engage others in polite interactions that encourage others to join. Chants and chanting are welcome. Profanity in talk or on signs is discouraged. It is understandable that people are angry, but we are there to observe the law, get permits if necessary, and non-violently protest; it is our First Amendment Right.

Event Organization: 4:45 to 6:15

We would suggest that three volunteer roles, in addition to two Moderator/Leaders, would make the event successful, although we recognize that one person with a loud voice or megaphone could make a great event. Two sharing each role may be even better.

The Moderators/Leaders role:

  • At 4:30 be at the location to greet protesters
  • Determine who wants to speak and on what issue(s)
  • At 5:15PM present the agenda, allowing time for each speaker within an hour
  • Introduce the speakers, and if time is available after or before speaking, lead in chants
  • Moderate the discussion about the next meeting and the possible Labor Day events
  • End the Rally at 6:15 PM or before

Data Takers

In the case that someone wants to, or is willing to, give name and email address to help organize, they will capture this information and email it back to CAM83@CAM83.org.

Security Persons

In the beginning the Security Persons will only need to inform the City Police and the Sheriff that the event will occur. When the number of attendees exceeds 100 then a team should be assembled so that traffic safety and ground conditions can be maintained.
